The Morning Paper Says...

I could not agree more with our morning paper:

And we ARE glad it is not US!

We had a brief discussion at work this morning at how we are just not prepared for shit like that. One, it is snow. We do not do the snow. We do hurricanes. But even THAT, my household is NOT prepared for. We don't have flashlights, we DO have one candle, but only one, and maybe five cans of Chef Boyardee. We don't have generators or first aid kits or bottles of water.

Actually, when hurricanes ARE brewing off the coast, we usually head down to the beach to watch. Strange how we do that. If the tornado sirens go off...everyone runs outside to see if we can spot the tornado. I am not sure if that makes us stupid or wanna-be meteorologists.

As stated in the previous post, we are basking in a lovely 71 degrees today. I am in bliss...at least until tonight. Tomorrow's high is 44. A 27 degree drop in a matter of hours. It is unholy. When people say we don't have seasons down here, I always say we have MULTIPLE changes of season...we change from Spring to Winter in one day, then we go to Summer, then Fall the next day and then back to Summer.

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner!!!! Who's excited?!? ME! We are having a BOMBASS block party at work, live band, kegs of Harp, karaoke, catered food...it is the party of the year!! I am SO looking forward to my paid holiday full of drink, food and fun!

Hope everyone has a good day! Stay warm!

I am glad it's not us either, we are having some fabulous weather today, High of 84 and low of 74, can't beat that!!!

I feel for those people surrounded by snow and the people in Australia battling Cyclone Yasi, Cat. 5th... I fear that could be us this next, hope not!

I don't like you much right now Jessica old buddy old pal... and Lilli? Working next to her is not all its cracked up to be. She frequently comes in all hungover (although that does usually result in her making an office run to Precinct Deli for greasy breakfast food), and CONSTANTLY lays her stuff on your chair when you leave the room.

Usurper, she is. I'm not sure Savannah's fabulous weather makes it worth it.

Lilli - don't listen to Deb...she is an encroacher. And she LOVED working with me...despite the hangovers. Which I have one today...but have gotten MUCH better about that.

Deb - can you believe they CLOSED the Precinct Deli?!?! I have been starving to DEATH over here. I wish you were still here so I could lay stuff in your chair. :(

What??? How could they close Precinct Deli?! i) it was next door to the police station, how can anything greasy go out of business when it is next to the police station?? ii) it was down the block from our office and how could anything greasy go out of business when it is down the block from our office??

LOL

And btw.. you know if I were still there they would have separated us by now. I'm still shocked they didn't do it when I was there. Too much giggling from our vicinity.

Deb - the people that owned it said they wanted to go and try new things. The business didn't fail, they just didn't want to do it anymore.

They are putting in something else, but we aren't sure what kind of food it is going to be yet! Supposed to open this month.

We did get a new place called Sammy Greens that is over off of Abercorn next to Planet 3. It is SO. FREAKING. GOOD.

Deb - no they wouldn't have! A happy employee is a good employee! Well, actually, we would have been separated anyway cause me and Joe had to move to the carriage house...so we would have just had to have been happy waving to each other.
